On a test area of 8000 m², the Water-Savers were placed every 2 meters by 2 meters in a matrix about 10 cm below the surface and after a conditioning period of 3 months, irrigation trials were to start with 50% less water compared to a comparison field. For this reason, a delegation from the Kurdish Regional Government, which reports directly to the Iraqi Prime Minister, came to hear the Austrian technology explained in more detail and awarded NG an environmental prize for the Watersaver.
Especially for dry areas, like in Iraq, this development could help to save a lot of water. Orders will follow this year.
